Common in proper habitat
Very chickadee-like in behavior. Usually seen either as a pair, or as part of a loose, mixed flock. Active foliage gleaner as it moves through the foliage looking for insects. Frequently vocalizes while it is foraging. Frequent visitor to backyard bird feeding stations, prefers small Black-oil sunflower seeds.
