A winter visitor to the Central Highlands of Arizona, generally observed above 5,500 feet in elevation.
Adult male and female plumage similar. An overall gray bird with a white eye ring, white outer tail feathers, and buffy plumage in wings, visible at rest and in flight. Juveniles are heavily spotted over their entire body.

Uncommon
Usually observed singly. Typically quiet, so you will generally see this species without ever hearing it. Thrush like in behavior. In summer diet consists mainly of insects, in winter diet is mostly berries. A shy species, will not frequent backyard feeders but can be observed in backyard habitats, particularly those that have a lot of berry-producing trees and shrubs.
